Brian and Kara's Blog: Charleigh's First 4th of July!

Time is flying by! Charleigh is now 5 weeks old and is growing so fast. We had our 1 month check up last week, and Charleigh is now weighing 9 lbs 11 oz and is 22.5 inches long! That's about a 2 lb gain since our 1 week check and 1.5 inches in length!! We're out of newborn sized clothes and diapers now and into 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. Everyday we see changes in the length of time she's alert, her eye contact, strength of her neck, and tracking with her eyes. We've been doing some tummy time every day, and she's getting better at picking her head up and moving it from one side to the other. She even makes cute "talking" noises while she's doing it. Sometimes she doesn't enjoy it very much, but most of the time she has a good time with it. She's such a calm, happy baby!

For the 4th of July, we traveled to Lexington, SC to be with the Taylor family. It was a weekend of relaxation pool- and lake-side, the weather was perfect, and Charleigh was the center of attention of course!

or with Pops! They were dancing together here. Pops was sporting a funny hat this weekend. It kept us all laughing!

Charleigh was sporting a couple of cute suits this weekend...she didn't get all the way in the pool (too cold for her young body), but she sure was looking cute!
